German skincare group Beiersdorf, behind household-name brands like Nivea and Elastoplast, announced recently that all its operations would be powered by renewable electricity by the end of 2019.

"All Beiersdorf sites worldwide have switched to electricity from renewable sources as of 2019," the company said in a statement.

The move is part of an effort to reduce its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 70 percent between 2014 and 2025, it added.
