The Macallan has released The Macallan Distil Your World New York, an exceptional single malt whisky and documentary that capture the essence of one of the most iconic cities in the world.

To commemorate this, the brand held a launch over two days at the Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill, located at Sunway Resort.

Crafted by The Macallan whisky maker, Polly Logan, in collaboration with the Roca brothers, who are the owners of El Celler de Can Roca, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Girona, Spain, Distil Your World New York embodies and celebrates the city as a dynamic metropolis of art, creativity and visionary talent.

The whisky is a combination of six European and American oak casks, reflecting the distinctive artistic character of New York, its towering architecture, and the culinary eclecticism offered by its delis, diners and street food.

Building on the subtle apple notes already characteristic of The Macallan – a fitting flavour for the Big Apple – it also offers the sweetness of classic American candy, with nods to peanut and chocolate.

The launch saw the attendances of whisky novices and guests such as actor and singer Huang Qi Ming, social media personalities Venice Min and Gary Wong, entrepreneur Aaron Chin, actor Eden See and actress and model Lynn Lim, followed by members of the media the next day.

During the event, guests were shown a 30-minute documentary of Polly and Joan Roca’s journey to uncover the mastery behind New York and the remarkable figures they encountered during it.

From the artists who fuel its vibrant culture, the visionaries driving its inimitable creativity, to the thinkers chronicling the city, the documentary includes globally acclaimed jazz musician Wynton Marsalis and legendary street artist Lady Pink.

Guests were served a customised tasting menu that showcased a journey into an uncharted New York, with the purpose of distilling its very soul into an exceptional single malt Scotch whisky – Distil Your World New York, consisted of an amuse, two starters, a main, and a dessert.
