National Day has passed, but many children are still excited about the celebration.

We saw Jalur Gemilang waving proudly, soldiers marching smartly and cultural dances showing the beauty of Malaysia’s many traditions.

For children, National Day is more than just a holiday. It is a reminder that Malaysia is our home, where we live peacefully with friends of many races and cultures.

We are proud that our country is known for its food, festivals and friendly people.

Although the big celebration is over, the National Day spirit stays in our hearts.

Every time we respect each other, share our tradition and care for our country, we are celebrating Malaysia in our own special way.

Here are the second batch of letters from Starchild readers on the topic, National Day.

Erica Sophia, 12, writes: “I hope Malaysia will always stay peaceful and communities will stay united.”

Eliezra Faith Arulandan, 12, writes: “To me, Malaysia is my home and the place where I feel safe. I like that people of different races and religions can live together and share our food, our festivals and traditions.”

Kaillash Marimuthu, nine, says: “Malaysia means peace and happiness to me. I feel proud to be Malaysian.”
