Everyone has a favourite day. For some, this day is their birthday or a special holiday. But sometimes, a favourite day is just a regular one that makes us feel happy and excited.

Chuah Seng Koon, 9 Chuah Seng Koon, 9Some might say their favourite day is when they get to visit their grandparents, go to the beach or have ice cream after dinner.

Others might love a family picnic, or a fun party with friends.

A favourite day does not have to be fancy or expensive – it just needs to be filled with things that make us smile. So, what about you? What is your favourite day, and why do you love it?

Here are the letters from Starchild readers on the topic, My Favourite Day.

“My favourite day is Christmas because I get a week off from school to relax, play video games and enjoy a delicious turkey dinner. Sometimes, I even get to travel overseas to countries like China, the United States and Britain. These are the reasons that Christmas is one of my favourite days of the whole year,” says Chuah Seng Koon, nine.

Narmithen Suresh Kumar, 11, writes: “My favourite day is when I play football with my father and brothers. The matches are full of energy, excitement and friendly competition. Our spacious field at home makes it even better, and I am lucky to have my father as my teammate. I learn so much from him, especially how he dribbles the ball and scores goals. I feel proud when I block a shot as a defender. These games bring us closer together, and I always look forward to our next match!”

“The weekends are my favourite days. I don’t have school, and I get to do all the things I enjoy. I can wake up a bit later and have a yummy breakfast. I like to read comics, play with my toys, or go outside to ride my bicycle. I especially enjoy playing in the park too,” says Kaira Anne Isitor, 10.
