Hong Kong actor Roger Kwok has built a strong showbiz career since his debut in 1986, starring in hit dramas such as Square Pegs, Life Made Simple and more.

After 40 years in the industry, the 61-year-old is now taking a break from acting to focus on a more balanced lifestyle and explore other interests.

He currently serves as the president of the Hong Kong Artiste Tennis Team – formed with fellow actors Timothy Cheng, Tony Hung, Hugo Wong and Cindy Lee.

“I have formed a tennis team with several celebrity friends and will be leading them to mainland China for upcoming matches, mainly for charity events,” he said.

Kwok also reflected on his exit from TVB in 2025 after nearly four decades with the broadcaster, saying the decision was driven by his desire for change and a different pace of life.

“This phase of life feels much more fulfilling. (Acting) puts me in a passive position,” he said.

While he remains open to scripts that appeal to him, especially micro-dramas which he hasn’t tried before, Kwok admitted that his passion for acting is gradually shifting.

“I haven’t thought about whether or not I still have that urge to act, but it won’t be shocking if I don’t want to act anymore someday… I’ve already felt that before,” he said.
