Hong Kong stunt icon Jackie Chan recently made a rare public appearance with his son Jaycee.

The father and son duo were seen travelling together in Huizhou, China, where onlookers remarked on their warm and affectionate interactions.

Photos shared on social media showed Jackie – who turned 72 on Tuesday (April 7) – with his arm draped over Jaycee’s shoulder, gesturing ahead as they chatted side by side.

Observers noted that Jaycee, 43, listened attentively, with the pair sharing warm conversation and laughter.

It’s worth noting that their bond hasn’t always been the best, especially when Jaycee became embroiled in a drug scandal during his acting career in 2014.

At the time, Jackie voiced his disappointment in his son, stating that he wouldn’t use his connections to help him.

Late last year, the action star publicly apologised to Jaycee, admitting that his overly strict parenting style and constant criticism instilled fear rather than guidance.

“In the past, whenever I saw my son, I scolded him. Whenever I went on television, I criticised him – I never said a kind word,” he said, as translated by Singapore news portal 8days.

Jackie added that he now realises he went about raising his son the wrong way and that his only hope is for Jaycee to be safe and happy.

Jaycee is the only child of Jackie and his wife, former Taiwanese actress Joan Lin.
