Katy Perry is said to be “very happy” in her dreamy new relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The 40-year-old pop star, who split from fiance Orlando Bloom earlier this year, is “really into” her romance with the 53-year-old legacy politician but is “trying to keep it low-key,” a source told Us Weekly.

“They’ve spent a lot of private time together. She’s not looking to publicise this relationship,” the insider said, adding that Trudeau “hasn’t met a lot of her friends yet.”

When sources confirmed the romance to the outlet in September, one made a point of saying it hadn’t gotten serious, as Perry has been busy on her international Lifetimes Tour, which began in April and wraps in early December.

But within weeks, the couple were spotted kissing and canoodling on Perry’s yacht off Southern California’s Santa Barbara coast.

Two days later, she reportedly made a cheeky comment during a tour stop in London about no longer “fall[ing] for Englishmen,” which assumed was a reference to her new Canadian beau.

Perry and Trudeau were first linked in late July when TMZ published footage of what appeared to be a “dinner date” in Montreal.

The romance rumours started swirling roughly a month after People reported that Perry and 48-year-old Bloom had ended their on-and-off relationship after nine years.

By early July, representatives for the stars – who share five-year-old daughter Daisy Dove – released a joint statement officially confirming the split after months of speculation.

Meanwhile, Trudeau and his estranged wife, Sophie Gregoire, announced in the summer of 2023 that they were separating after 18 years of marriage. The former couple, who share three children, have not yet legally divorced. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
