Taiwanese host Dee Hsu and South Korean musican Koo Jun-yup, better known as DJ Koo, visited the grave of late actress Barbie Hsu on Oct 6 to mark what would have been the latter's 50th birthday.

In an Instagram post, Dee, 48, shared several pictures from the gathering, which was also attended by their mother, as well as singers Christine Fan and Blackie Chen.

The group brought flowers, cake, champagne and seaweed soup to Barbie's grave as they commemorated her birthday.

The inclusion of seaweed soup, a traditional birthday dish in South Korea, has led to speculation that DJ Koo, 57, may have prepared the meal for his late wife.

Barbie and DJ Koo, who first started dating in 1998, tied the knot on Feb 8, 2022.

"We brought her favourite champagne and cake, sat beside her, crying and laughing as we shared our stories and talked about how much we miss her," Dee captioned her post.

She also reflected on how she would soon become older than her late sister, writing: "Next year, I will be older than her. Then I will have a superstar little sister, Big S (Barbie)."

Barbie died at the age of 48 from influenza-pneumonia on Feb 2 last year while on vacation with her family in Japan.

Following her cremation in Japan, Barbie's ashes were transported back to Taiwan on a private charter flight.

She was later laid to rest at Chin Pao San Cemetery in Taipei.
