Bella and Syed Saddiq tie the knot

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and singer Bella Astillah and Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman are now husband and wife, after tying the knot at 10.41am on Saturday (Oct 10).

According to mStar.com.my, the couple, who both wore white outfits featuring Arabic and Islamic elements, were wed on the 118th floor of Merdeka 118 Precinct in Kuala Lumpur.

Only family members and close friends attended the ceremony.

Bella, whose real name is Dayang Nabellah Awang Astillah, 32, and Syed Saddiq, 33, were wed after the groom recited his marriage vows in one go.

The ceremony was solemnised by former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, who acted as the representative of Bella's father, Awang Astillah Abdullah, or Dullah.

The couple exchanged gifts, with Syed Saddiq presenting a dowry of RM500 and seven trays, and Bella responding with nine.

Syed Saddiq's trays included insurance coverage, gold shaped like Mount Kinabalu, a personal gym, a massage chair, a bicycle, a study package, an umrah package and a RM100,000 lifetime contribution to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

Bella's trays included a specially commissioned ring, luxury shoes, an e-book, spectacles, chocolates, a laptop bag, gold bearing the Ironman Malaysia emblem, a copy of the Quran, a perfume set and tickets to the 2027 Ultraman Australia race.

Among the national leaders present were former prime ministers Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. Also there were the Prime Minister's wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Bella and Syed Saddiq got engaged on March 28.

Bella was previously married to Singapore-born singer Aliff Aziz in September 2016. They divorced on May 16, 2019, reconciled, and separated again on June 13, 2024.

She has two children from that marriage, Mohamed Ayden Adrean, 9, and Ara Adreanna, 6.
