A viral video showing a female guest pulling actress Bella Astillah by the neck while she was greeting guests at her wedding reception – which was open to the public – in Muar, Johor, on Sunday (Oct 25) has drawn sympathy and concern for the singer on social media.
The incident occurred as Bella, whose real name is Dayang Nabellah Awang Astillah, 32, and her husband, Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, were mingling with guests who had gathered to celebrate their wedding.
In the video, a woman is seen aggressively pulling Bella towards her by the neck, apparently to kiss the singer on the cheek.
The woman's actions angered netizens, who described her behaviour as rude and potentially harmful to Bella.
“I don't think this kind of behaviour should be normalised. Even if you want to kiss someone on the cheek, you should know your limits and respect their personal space. You can't just pull someone by the neck like that," one netizen commented.
“It's not funny at all. Learn some manners when attending someone else's event. And you're there enjoying a free meal, too,” another netizen criticised.
Meanwhile, some suggested that Bella and Syed Saddiq should tighten security arrangements by hiring more bodyguards for their upcoming wedding reception in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on Oct 31.
“Bella should have security guards. Guests shouldn't be crowding around her like that. That auntie showed no manners, especially when Bella is so petite," a netizen suggested.
“I hope Bella's safety is properly looked after in Sabah. I don't know why anyone would find that auntie cute. Her behaviour looked more like a lack of manners. She should have respected the occasion. Sabah is next, so I hope people in Sabah will behave themselves,” said a fellow netizen.

For the record, Bella and Syed Saddiq, 33, tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony on Oct 10.
The couple subsequently held a wedding reception at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 18.
Bella was previously married to singer Aliff Aziz, with whom she shares two children: Mohamed Ayden Adrean, nine, and Ara Adreanna, six.
