Professional wrestling star Ric Flair was hospitalised in Florida on Oct 23 after falling down outside a Tampa restaurant.
The 77-year-old grappler nicknamed “the Nature Boy” fell and injured his face after leaving to walk across a street, according to TMZ.
He’d left his phone and drink on the bar. Medical personnel rushed to help Flair, who was reportedly bleeding heavily from one eye and possibly concussed. He was said to have been taken to an area hospital by ambulance.
Flair had earlier posted a message to fans in Washington apologising for being unable to attend an event in Seattle due to blood clots.
“Unfortunately, I am dealing with a blood clot in my leg, and my doctors have limited my travel to 3-4 hours,” he wrote on Facebook.
Flying to Seattle, he said, would be outside that time frame. Flair said he’s scheduled to undergo a procedure on the affected vein that will remedy the situation.
“As disappointed as I am, I have to put my health and recovery first,” he added.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was sidelined for the remainder of the NFL season this week after doctors discovered he had a blood clot in one of his legs that could’ve killed him had it travelled to his lungs. Flair mentioned that in his post in which he warned that blood clots can be life-threatening and must not be taken lightly.
