Malaysian actress Emma Maembong has confirmed her divorce from her husband of four years, Muhammad Shazli Azhar.

In a statement yesterday (Oct 7), Emma, whose real name is Fatimah Rohani Ismail, revealed that she has already completed her iddah period.

The actress also shared that the divorce was amicable, adding that she didn’t want to keep it a secret any longer.

“The actual reason why I’ve been uploading photos with my ex-husband on Instagram is to take care of our children’s emotions, so they won’t be affected by the split.

“I want my children to see that their family is still happy,” the 32-year-old said.

Despite the divorce, Emma still maintains a good relationship with her former husband for the sake of their children.

The Kau Yang Terindah star also said she will take this experience as an opportunity for personal growth and self-improvement.

“I admit this marriage hasn’t been an easy journey. There are many challenges.

“Our focus now is to raise our children. Although we aren’t together anymore, we will still arrange family activities for our kids,” she added.

Emma and Shazli tied the knot on Feb 20, 2020.

The former couple have two children – Shariq Gabriel, four, and Shakil Aryan Shah, one.
