Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania director Peyton Reed told Marvel fans or “true believers” on Twitter to “fasten their seatbelts.”

Paul Rudd returns as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and in the film, he’ll face an Avengers-level antagonist alongside The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) and Cassie Lang/Stinger (Kathryn Newton). Kang The Conqueror will make his official debut in Quantumania.

Jonathan Majors has already played an alternate version of Kang the Conqueror called He Who Remains in the first season of Loki, but the Kang in Quantumania is definitely a different variant and a “formidable opponent,” Entertainment Weekly reported.

“We were thrilled to get to do a third Ant-Man movie and do a trilogy,” Reed told EW back in July at San Diego Comic-Con. “And we knew if we were going to do that we wanted to do some things differently. We really wanted to take a hard left turn and make a movie that was even more epic, but still progress the story of these family dynamics and everything that’s going on between Scott and Hope and Cassie.”

“Cassie is now 18 years old and maybe Scott doesn’t quite know how to relate to her as an adult because he lost those five years because of the events of Endgame,” Reed added. “And we also knew that we wanted to put our heroes up against a very, very formidable opponent. I grew up reading the comics and I knew the character of Kang the Conqueror, who’s one of the big, big bad characters in the comics, so to be able to put up our heroes against Kang the Conqueror was a huge thing for us. We went big and we also went small.”

Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer co-star as Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne the original Ant-Man and Wasp.

In the film, according to the synopsis on Rotten Tomatoes, “Superhero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.”
