Fans of the Spanish hit series Money Heist (La Casa De Papel) have to wait for a few more months before the show's final season premieres on Netflix in September.

The streaming giant announced that Season Five will be divided into two volumes; the first part will premiere on Sept 3 and the second part will be released on Dec 3.

This time around, the motley crew is out for blood after one of their own – fan favourite Nairobi (Alba Flores) – was killed in the last season.

It's not about the heist now, it is personal, it is war.

"It's an epic war film! From what I've seen, we're making a war movie but within four walls," said actor Pedro Alonso, who portrays Berlin in the series, in an exclusive virtual set visit which StarLifestyle was invited to participate in recently.

Filming for the series is still on going in Madrid, Spain.

The 10-episode final season is still being shot, we were told by actor Alvaro Morte who plays the leader of the gang, Professor.

"I don’t know how the series ends yet. I’m (still shooting) Episode 8. I’ve yet to receive Episodes 9 and 10.

"So I can’t tell you how the series is going to end. They would cut my throat, so I can’t tell you if it’s as good or not," Morte said.

"What I can tell you is that it is a season with a lot of tension, a lot of action, and it’s very exciting."

As to why they decided to end the series this season although reception to the series is at an all-time high, director and executive producer Jesus Colmenar said after filming over 2,000 minutes worth of drama involving two heists, this is the best time to stop.

"I think we've exhausted some of the characters' emotional arcs and their arcs of transformation. We've told a lot and I think it's a good time to stop," Colmenar said in a separate interview after the virtual set visit.

"It's a very climatic season and I think it's always better to leave sooner rather than later. "

In Seasons One and Two of Money Heist, a gang of robbers – nicknamed after various cities in the world – is out to rob the Royal Mint in Spain.

Seasons Four and Five see these robbers (with some new addition) reunite to save one of their members who has been apprehended and, at the same time, rob the Bank Of Spain.

Season Five will pick up immediately after the events of Season Four with the robbers stuck inside the Bank Of Spain for more than 100 hours. Will the long arm of the law finally catch up to them?
