Popular TV actress Mira Filzah had some words of encouragement for those sitting for the upcoming Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exams beginning on Jan 6,2021.
"If you're stressed out studying, don't force yourself. Take a break. You need to be calm when you're studying so you can obsorb better. If your mind is all tangled up, there's no use," said the 27-year-old during an online SPM preparation seminar.
"Try doing something that will help you de-stress. Some of you have commented that you de-stress by watching K-dramas. My reply is, 'Better not because you can get addicted and end up watching episode after episode.' If you need to get some shut-eye, do that instead."
Mira, who scored an impressive 8As in the national exams, added that students also have a tendency to turn to their phones to unwind.
"Learn to distance yourself from the digital world because we're so used to surfing the Internet and using all kinds of apps for hours on end."
The Bidadari Kiriman Tuhan star suggested that students should go outside instead.
"Exercise, go for a jog and enjoy the fresh air outside. But of course, observe the physical distancing rules."
The SPM examinations were originally scheduled to take place on Nov 16 but has since been pushed to Jan 6 due to the pandemic.
"I'm sure it's been a struggle for students, especially those sitting for SPM, because of Covid-19. But do not despair and lose hope. Perhaps there's a bright side: students are given more time to revise."
