Popular 1980s singer and actress Noorkumalasari reminisced about her childhood days with her sister, fellow iconic Malaysian artiste Anita Sarawak, during the Sept 24 episode of talk show Next To Neelofa.

"Whenever our parents would leave the house, Anita and I would go inside their bedroom and we would try on mum's lipsticks and high heels," the 64-year-old recalled.

"Then we would put on her handbags and walk like we were in a fashion show. I was about six or seven. We both loved fashion."

The sisters were both known for their bold, fashion-forward looks during their illustrious careers.

Neelofa then asked Noorkumalasari about Anita's current whereabouts: "She's healthy now? She's good?"

"I don't really know what to say. I hope so. We all pray for her. Because I don't get the chance to talk to her," Noorkumalasari responded.

"My eldest sister spoke to (Anita's husband) Mahathir and he said both of them are fine."

Anita, 68, has mysteriously gone off the radar in recent years, fuelling various rumours about what she's been up to, from battling cancer to getting divorced.

"From what she told me before, she and her husband are both in the real estate business and they go all over the United States. But with the Covid-19 cases, I don't know if they are still hopping around."

"So let's just pray that they're doing OK."

Next To Neelofa airs every Thursday at 9pm on Astro Ria (Ch 104) and Astro Go.
