Since it's Malaysia Day today, do check out singer-songwriter Amirah's new single titled You Are My Land.

With the lyrics, Amirah hopes to comfort Malaysians. And with the melody, which combines Western and Eastern sounds, she hopes to remind her fellow Malaysians the importance of standing together.

“The main meaning of the song is about the people of Malaysia, love for our country and calling out for unity," she said in a press statement.

"It combines cinematic pop, live strings, Malaysian Chinese drums by Hands Percussion Group and gamelan. East meets West, uniting Malaysian cultures through music."

Amirah rose to prominence in 2011 with the Anugerah Industri Muzik-nominated song Katakanlah and then later in 2013 for the number Sailing The Sahara.

She is said to be working on her debut album; You Are My Land is the lead single from this album.

Recently too, Amirah launched her own brand Amirah360.
