Season 2 of 'His Dark Materials' premieres in November

It's time to catch up on the first season of the HBO series His Dark Materials, if you haven't already, as the second season is debuting in November.

Based on the Philip Pullman novels, the first season proved to be an excellent watch.

The second season begins after Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) has opened a bridge to a new world, and Lyra (Dafne Keen) follows him into the unknown.

But trouble is brewing for the duo, what with Mrs Coulter (Ruth Wilson) determined to bring Lyra back by any means necessary and the Magisterium wanting to destroy any threat to its establishment.

His Dark Materials also stars Amir Wilson, Ariyon Bakare, Andrew Scott, Will Keen, Ruta Gedmintas and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Joining the cast this season are Terence Stamp, Jade Anouka and Simone Kirby.

The first season is available on HBO Go.
