The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) is holding its inaugural RED Gallery The Untold Stories photo exhibition at Rumah Tangsi in Kuala Lumpur this weekend (March 25-27, 10am to 8pm).
The exhibition features a cross-section of photographers such as Ahmad Yusni, Amy Ng, Azneal Ishak, Ahmad Zamzahuri, Maryam Nasir, Miera Zulyana, Nazir Sufari and Puah Sze Ning. The photographic works zoom in on MRCS’s vaccination initiatives for the underserved community during the pandemic.

Over a period of eight months, MRCS administered over 50,000 vaccinations across 15 states, often having to trek off-road to set up its vaccination centres.
"We have always operated with the mentality that no one is safe until everyone is safe. It is important for us to ensure that no one gets left behind in our battle against Covid-19. Through the RED Gallery initiative, we wish to document Malaysia’s journey throughout the pandemic; to share the hardships and to show the underserved communities that we care,” says Her Highness Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz Binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, MRCS National Chairperson.
Besides the photography exhibition, visitors can view the Gotong Royong Cucuk Vaksin web documentary that shares stories of the vaccination drive volunteers.

There will also be a flea market with a total of 27 vendors from the B40 group, and vulnerable local and immigrant communities. This is a collaboration with Buy For Impact, a movement that connects social enterprises with the goal of working towards a business landscape that is inclusive, meaningful and positive for society.
The RED Gallery Untold Stories by MRCS is supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Agoda.
A virtual tour will be made available soon here.
