None for Batman, none for Spidey – superheroes fail to get Eisner nominations


DC and Marvel’s superheroes no match for creator-owned independent comics in comic industry equivalent of the Oscars.

Creator-owned comics dominated the nominations for the 26th Will Eisner Awards, or Eisners, which were announced yesterday, with publishing houses Image Comics and Fantagraphics grabbing the lion’s share of the awards.
