THE discussion on the proposed National Health Fund (NHF) by the Health Ministry at the Malaysia Economy Forum 2026 on Feb 6 deserves serious public attention.
While the intent to strengthen healthcare financing is commendable, the design of the fund must go beyond simply collecting contributions. The financing structure itself should actively promote better public health outcomes.
