5 die of carbon monoxide poisoning in Russia's Vologda Region


MOSCOW, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Five people have died of carbon monoxide poisoning in a garage in Russia's Vologda region, regional governor Georgy Filimonov said on Saturday.

"A tragedy occurred in the town of Babaevo. Five people, young women and men aged 20 to 34, died there today. All were found in a garage. According to preliminary information, they died of carbon monoxide poisoning in a fire," Filimonov said.

Emergency services are working at the scene, and authorities will provide assistance to the victims' families, Filimonov added.
