Master butcher, local chef blend global flavours in weekend spread

The Ritzy Weekend Feast combines Western and Asian favourites for dinner.

A WEEKEND buffet featuring international and Malaysian dishes is being served at The Cobalt Room, The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur, throughout September.

The Ritzy Weekend Feast brings together master butcher chef Willie Thong Yew Wah and chef Zaffar Abdul Samad in a spread that combines Western-style meats, Asian favourites and local flavours.

Offerings include seafood on ice, sushi and sashimi, pasta dishes prepared at a live station and Thai selections.

At the carving station, Thong serves house-smoked meats, artisanal sausages and roasted meats prepared Western-style.

His selection forms the centrepiece of the buffet’s meat offerings, with different cuts prepared using smoking, roasting and grilling techniques.

The Malaysian section is led by Zaffar, who incorporates local flavours and spices into dishes such as satay and briyani.

There is also a changing selection of desserts prepared by the hotel’s pastry team.

The Ritzy Weekend Feast, priced at RM170++ per person, is available on Fridays and Saturdays, from 6.30pm to 10pm.
