Pink afternoon tea, fashion show to raise funds for breast cancer diagnostic support

Exquisite selection of pink-inspired creations for a cause.

A charity afternoon tea and fashion show in Kuala Lumpur this month will see proceeds going towards breast cancer diagnostic support for the B40 community.

The event, at Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown on Saturday, is in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month and is organised in collaboration with Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), Aeon and Malaysian fashion designer Yani Bakthiar.

A highlight of the afternoon tea is “Blush”, the hotel’s specially made cake of the month.

From the oven come raspberry rose brioche and cranberry scones, served with clotted cream, strawberry jam and mandarin marmalade.

The savoury selection features a tomato, crab and chive tartlet; cured salmon sandwich with beetroot, cream cheese and dill; cheese croquettes with beef bresaola; and prawn roll layered with brioche and tobiko (flying fish roe).

Desserts include cherry pistachio choux with pistachio mousseline and cherry confit; jasmine cheesecake with peach compote and cream cheese mousse; raspberry tart with almond frangipane and mascarpone Chantilly cream; panna cotta with macerated strawberry and kaffir lime; and honey and ruby chocolate madeleines.

The charity event is in aid of the UMMC-PPUM B40 Breast Cancer Diagnostic Fund, with tickets priced at RM150 each.

The afternoon tea will also be available every weekend in October, at RM128nett per pax.
