Langkawi and Jakarta chefs unite for four hands dinner

Ryan brings the finesse of French tradition to Kayuputi.

The award-winning restaurant at The St Regis Langkawi will host the next chapter of The Gastronomy Series through an exclusive culinary collaboration with Jakarta’s acclaimed Joelle restaurant.

Taking place on Oct 23 and 24, the four hands dinner brings together Kayuputi Langkawi’s chef de cuisine Marco Portal and Joelle executive chef Ryan Fadli in celebration of the 10th anniversary of both the establishments.

Set above the Andaman Sea, the evening is conceived as a culinary dialogue between Kayuputi’s Asian haute cuisine and Joelle’s French culinary sensibility.

Portal’s cuisine reflects the restaurant’s distinctive expression of elegance, coastal influence, and refined Asian flavours while Joelle, inspired by Joel Brasserie in Atlanta, brings the finesse of French tradition, contemporary hospitality, and a spirit of meaningful connection through food and service.

Guests will embark on a curated seven-course pairing menu.

“As Kayuputi and The St. Regis Langkawi celebrate their 10th anniversary, this edition of The Gastronomy Series is especially meaningful,” said The St Regis Langkawi general manager Derek Gomez.
