Festive roasts and fresh seafood are part of Christmas offerings at One World Hotel’s Cinnamon Coffee House in Petaling Jaya.

Chef David Kuan, who prefers to celebrate the festive occasion in a traditional way, said, “Festive roasts like roast beef or lamb are a must-have during Christmas, especially when one intends to celebrate it in the classic British way.

“Also obligatory is Yorkshire pudding that I have added to the buffet spread.

“I am a meat lover so diners will be spoilt for choice with the extensive selection.”

He said diners could experience beef cooked in different styles – with local spices, in the Western style which favoured rosemary, salt and pepper or Mongolian style that employed smoked paprika.

I enjoyed Kuan’s roasted Australian striploin and chestnut stuffing .

The beef was roasted to perfection with a flavourful, thin layer of charred crust from the spices that marinated the beef.

It also sealed the moisture of the beef, making it succulent and juicy.

Here’s a tip: Ask the chef for a nice cut at the edges as those are the parts jammed-packed with goodness.

The grill station dished out Wagyu Beef striploin steak, sliced lamb shoulder and Cajun chicken breast served with condiments.

On a bed of ice chips at the seafood station were freshly shucked Irish oysters, Atlantic jackknife clams, snow crabs and slipper lobsters.

Start off the meal with snow crab or a piping hot bowl of oxtail soup.

Baked Alaska salmon, roasted whole lamb and buttered vegetables are top-billed dishes to look out for.

The fish with its Omega-rich fats was appetising while the lamb was not gamey and went well with the mint or brown sauce.

Kuan said the lamb was brined with salt and pepper before being roasted for 45 minutes.

Other dishes to check out are the seared beef medallion, slow-cooked lamb shoulder, baked sea bass as well as the hotel’s very own beef Wellington.

The buffet spread also has a diverse mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Japanese dishes.

Round up the feast with picks from the dessert bar which features Christmas Yule log, fruit cake, Christmas pudding and house-made sugar-free ice creams made with stevia.

On Christmas Eve and Christ_mas Day, guests will also be entertained by carollers from 7pm to 8pm.

The Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Eve buffet dinner is priced at RM298nett per adult and available from 6.30pm to 10.30pm.

There is also Christmas day and New Year’s Day hi-tea, priced at RM198nett and available from noon to 4pm.
