LET the traditional flavours of Golden Sands Resort Penang’s Eat-All-You-Can Selera Kampung dinner spread light up your festive season.
With traditional Malay heartland fare complemented by regional favourites, the pork-free feast served at the resort’s Garden Cafe will please everyone.
It is available daily from 6pm to 10pm until May 14 and priced at RM128 for adults and RM64 for kids (aged six to 11).

Executive sous chef Rizal Masir said they curated many family recipes from their in-house chefs. These heritage interpretations of dishes proved popular in previous years.
“Many dishes are based on what our mothers and elderly relatives cooked at home. Using these recipes helps keep their culinary legacy alive, ” he added.
Making a return are the much-loved Kambing Golek and Ayam Pasu. The former is a whole lamb marinated in herbs and spices and then roasted over a charcoal spit whilst the latter is a spatchcocked chicken roasted atop earthenware pots.
Meanwhile, the Warung Nelayan offers Ikan Bakar over banana leaves. A little sambal is all that is needed.
But do not over-indulge at any one station as there are a total of 10 to be explored.
The appetiser corner offers a heady mix of ulam-ulaman, assorted kerabu and acar, lemang, ketupat and pasembur. At the murtabak corner, the popular treat comes with chicken or beef.
Hot bowls of Mee Udang and Sup Gear Box will surely satisfy diners as will helpings of Nasi Biryani with chicken, mutton or Dalca Sayur.
Look out for Ayam Bakar Timur Tengah, Satay, Koay Teow Goreng and Shawarma among many others.
For dessert, pick from a rainbow-coloured selection of local kuih, cakes and puddings. Among them are Kuih Sago Merah, Bingka Pandan, Talam Jagung, Bubur Pulut Hitam, Agar-Agar Sirap Bandung, Puding Gula Hangus, Ais Kacang and Cendol.
Completing the lineup are free flow of seven popular local beverages.
