Malaysia's palm oil stockpiles up 4.78% to 2.54mil tonnes in June - MPOB


KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s palm oil stockpiles rose 4.78 per cent, or 116,123 tonnes, to 2.54 million tonnes in June 2026 from 2.43 million tonnes a month earlier, according to the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).

MPOB said crude palm oil (CPO) stocks increased 3.75 per cent, or 48,153 tonnes, to 1.33 million tonnes in June 2026 from 1.28 million in May 2026. "Processed palm oil stockpiles surged 5.94 per cent to 1.21 million tonnes from 1.14 million tonnes,” it said in its June industry performance report.

On production, MPOB said CPO output increased 8.08 per cent, or 122,450 tonnes, to 1.64 million tonnes from 1.52 million a month earlier, while palm kernel output also rose 8.16 per cent month-on-month to 381,480 tonnes from 352,697.

Crude palm kernel oil production dipped 0.46 per cent to 174,071 tonnes from 174,871 in May, while palm kernel cake output climbed 1.12 per cent to 195,534 tonnes from 193,362.

MPOB said palm oil exports rose 6.19 per cent in June 2026 to 1.20 million tonnes from 1.13 million a month earlier, while palm kernel oil exports declined by 2.64 per cent to 83,712 tonnes.

Palm kernel cake exports rose to 219,887 tonnes from 177,880. Oleochemical exports fell 12.37 per cent to 224,055 tonnes from 255,674 in May, while biodiesel exports shrank by 88.35 per cent to 4,817 tonnes.

MPOB reported zero CPO imports in June, while palm kernel oil imports fell 31.01 per cent to 5,978 tonnes, from 8,665 tonnes in the preceding month. - Bernama
