Aizo bags RM9.1mil subcontract for Cheras TOD project

AIZO Group Bhd executive director Ahmad Rahizal Ahmad Rasidi.

PETALING JAYA: Aizo Group Bhd has secured a contract from Xense Design Sdn Bhd to undertake the sub-contract for road and drainage works for the proposed transit-oriented development (TOD) comprising three blocks of serviced apartments and other related ancillaries in Cheras, Selangor, worth RM9.09mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Aizo said the contract shall commence on June 18, 2026 and is expected to be completed by Aug 17, 2027.

“The contract is expected to contribute positively to the revenue, earnings and net assets of the company and its subsidiaries for the financial year ending June 30, 2027.”

Moving forward, Aizo said it will continue to pursue commercially viable construction and infrastructure opportunities, particularly projects that align with Malaysia’s urban development, connectivity and sustainability agenda.

“The company remains focused on disciplined project execution, cost efficiency and building a stronger recurring project base across its civil engineering and infrastructure segment.”

In a separate statement, executive director Ahmad Rahizal Ahmad Rasidi said the award would strengthen Aizo's construction pipeline and underscore the market's confidence in the group's capabilities in delivering infrastructure-related works.

He added that road and drainage works, while less visible, are essential to supporting the successful delivery of development projects.

“The Cheras TOD project is a sizeable urban development with 2,796 serviced apartment units, and we are pleased that Aizo Construction has been entrusted to contribute to its supporting infrastructure.

“This contract also fits well with our strategy of pursuing commercially viable projects that can contribute positively to the Company’s earnings,” Ahmad said.
