KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Property Bhd has expanded its industrial footprint in the Northern Klang Valley with the launch of Elmina Business Park 2, marking its strategic move into Rawang following the success of its flagship Elmina Business Park.

In a statement, the property developer said the new development, introduced in January 2026, features a mix of industrial land lots and ready-built factories.

Sime Darby Property said the maiden launch of Phases 1A and 1B, offering a total of 19 freehold industrial land lots, has

received a favourable response, with an estimated take-up of 70%.

Spanning 600 acres with a gross development value (GDV) of RM1.72bil, Elmina Business Park 2 is situated approximately 2km north of the existing Elmina Business Park within the established Guthrie Corridor.

The project will include 72 semi-detached factory units alongside industrial lots ranging from two to four acres, offering flexible built-to-suit and built-to-lease options.

The development is positioned to benefit from strong connectivity. It has direct access via the Lagong interchange along the Guthrie Corridor Expressway, linking businesses to the North-South Expressway and LATAR, both located about 2km away.

Sime Darby Property’s chief operating officer for township development, Appollo Leong, said the new project builds on the company’s vision to redefine industrial townships.

“The intention of Elmina Business Park was to revolutionise industrial townships, and we continue to focus on creating a thriving ecosystem where businesses can grow and prosper,” he said.

“With Elmina Business Park 2 in Rawang, we are delivering the same world-class standards and freehold advantage in a strategically located, high-growth corridor.”

He added that the limited units remaining present a timely opportunity for businesses to secure land in a development that supports long-term growth, operational efficiency and workforce wellbeing.

Elmina Business Park, the group’s earlier development, is recognised as the Klang Valley’s largest freehold industrial business park, spanning 1,500 acres.

The park is equipped with comprehensive infrastructure and world-class facilities, including a proposed business support centre, staff accommodation facilities, commercial centres, and over 110 acres of parklands to promote employee rejuvenation and wellbeing.
