West River unit secures RM25.2mil data centre subcontract

PETALING JAYA: West River Bhd's wholly-owned West River Engineering Sdn Bhd has accepted a sub-contract worth RM25.2mil from an undisclosed main contractor company for works on a data centre.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, West River noted the contract is for the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning and maintenance of electrical services for a consumer landing station (CLS) building of a data centre located in the southern region of Malaysia.

The subcontract is scheduled for completion within 82 days from the commencement date.

“This contract marks a significant milestone for the Group as we make our entry into the data centre sector. It reflects our capability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions and positions us to capitalise on the growing demand for digital infrastructure in Malaysia,” said Lim Yong Lai, managing director of West River, in a release.

He added that West River is actively participating in project tenders and remains focused on expanding its presence in this growing market.

West River added that it would fund the subcontract with internally generated funds and/or bank borrowings.

West River Group is a mechanical and electrical (M&E) engineering services provider, specialising in the provision of electrical engineering, air-conditioning and ventilation systems and intelligent building solutions.
