MBM Resources records RM63.5mil net profit

PETALING JAYA: MBM Resources Bhd recorded a net profit of RM63.53mil for the first quarter ended Mar 31, 2026 (1Q26), down from RM71.39mil from the same quarter a year ago.

The group reported a quarterly revenue of RM543.72mil, representing a 5.3% decline from the RM574.32mil in 1Q25.

MBM Resources said the lower profits involved declines across its subsidiaries, joint venture and associates, in line with overall market weakness.

The share of results from its joint venture saw a 21.7% decline in profit to RM3.3mil, mainly due to lower production demand from carmakers, the group said.

On a quarterly basis, revenue fell by RM193.1 million or 26.2%, primarily due to the scheduled plant shutdowns by several carmakers in both Feb and Mar 2026.

This, it said, resulted in fewer working days in 1Q26 and moderation in demand.
