Astino profit more than doubles to RM16mil in 2Q

PETALING JAYA: Astino Bhd more than doubled its profit for the second quarter ended Jan 31, 2026 (2Q26) to RM16.09mil from RM6.93mil posted for the same quarter last year.

Its revenue for the quarter under review was also higher at RM172.73mil compared to RM153.57mil in 2Q25.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the metal building material manufacturer said the increase was on the back of more business days as well as a significant increase in sales overseas, which rose from RM2.7mil in the preceding quarter to RM17.7mil in the current period.

Astino saw improved margins within the local market.

It remains cautiously optimistic for the rest of the year.

“Despite the increasingly complex global economic landscape marked by heightened geopolitical tensions and fluctuating commodity prices, the group has demonstrated significant resilience. This is underscored by the sustained growth in both revenue and profitability achieved during the current quarter,” it noted.

Astino added that it will continue to prioritise operational excellence and the consolidation of its market leadership.

‘The recent expansion in profit margins, driven by an optimised product mix and robust performance across our core segments, provides a formidable foundation for sustainable growth. We are confident that we are well-positioned to achieve satisfactory results for the financial year ending July 31, 2026.”
