KUALA LUMPUR: Cili Kampung Malaysia has acquired a 50% stake in Dotty’s Pastries & Coffee Sdn Bhd for RM23.9mil, marking a strategic consolidation in Malaysia’s food and beverage (F&B) sector as both brands gear up for nationwide growth.
In a joint statement, they said Cili Kampung subscribed to 11.95 million new shares, representing half of Dotty’s enlarged share capital. The deal coincides with Dotty’s 10th anniversary and signals its transition into a scalable, nationally recognised Halal-certified artisanal dining concept.
Both parties have committed RM5mil to fund expansion, strengthen operational infrastructure and enhance supply chain capabilities, alongside the recent relaunch of Dotty’s flagship outlet at Suria KLCC.
Cili Kampung director Anwar Azeez said the RM24mil investment reflects confidence in Dotty’s brand equity and long-term growth potential.
“By aligning Cili Kampung’s operational discipline and expansion expertise with Dotty’s artisanal strengths, we are building a stronger platform across the modern Malay and premium Halal artisanal café verticals, positioning both brands for sustainable growth in Malaysia and beyond,” he said.
Founded in Langkawi, Cili Kampung is known for its authentic homemade Malay flavours and disciplined, scalable operations across key urban markets.
Dotty’s, established in 2015, has grown into a recognised premium café brand offering artisanal bakes, café classics and refined main courses.
Cili Kampung chief marketing officer Kesavan (KC) Purusotman said the acquisition strengthens the group’s portfolio strategy and will accelerate Dotty’s domestic expansion.
Meanwhile, Dotty’s founder and director Nadia Nasimuddin described the partnership as a defining moment, saying it provides the structure needed to scale nationally while preserving Dotty’s artisanal standards and hospitality identity.
“As we enter our tenth year, this partnership provides the structure and support needed to grow Dotty’s beyond its independent roots into a scalable national powerhouse.
“With Cili Kampung as an equal partner, we are focused on scaling responsibly while staying true to the artisanal standards and hospitality experience that have defined Dotty’s from the beginning,’ she said.
