Gas Malaysia distribution tariff set at RM1.880/GJ/day under RP3

KUALA LUMPUR: Gas Malaysia Bhd said the base average tariff for users of the natural gas distribution system operated by its wholly-owned unit, Gas Malaysia Distribution Sdn Bhd (GMD), has been set at RM1.880 per gigajoule (GJ) per day under the Incentive-Based Regulation (IBR) framework.

The tariff will apply for Regulatory Period 3 (RP3), which runs from Jan 1, 2026, to Dec 31, 2028.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said GMD’s distribution tariff for all types of utilisation has been set at RM2.114/GJ/day for the period from Jan 1, 2026 to Dec 31, 2026, after incorporating the annual IBR tariff adjustment.

“Gas Malaysia wishes to clarify that the tariff approval is not applicable to the sales of liquefied petroleum gas supplied in gas cylinder or in bulk supply,” it said.

“The Distribution Tariff for RP3 will continue to contribute positive returns from the regulated segment of the company for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026,” it added.
