Bursa Malaysia suspends 18 stocks' intraday short-selling

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia today suspended the intraday short-selling (IDSS) for 18 stocks after their last done price dropped by more than 15 per cent or 15 sen from the reference price.

Notable companies in the suspension include Yinson Holding Bhd, Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd, Dialog Group Bhd, Malaysian Pacific Industries (MPI), EcoWorld Development Group Bhd and Dayang Enterprise Holding Bhd, among others.

At the close, Yinson slipped 35 sen to RM1.81, Hibiscus Petroleum lost 18 sen to RM1.45, MPI trimmed RM2.50 to RM14.66, Dialog fell 21 sen to RM1.23, EcoWorld decreased 23 sen to RM1.60, and Dayang fell 23 sen to RM1.56.

In multiple separate filings, the exchange said the short selling under IDSS will only be activated the following trading day, which is on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 8.30 am.

The local bourse closed sharply lower today, with the benchmark index falling by 4.01 per cent, dragged by weaker regional market performance amid growing concerns over a potential global trade war.

At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 60.34 points to 1,443.80 from Friday’s close of 1,504.14. - Bernama
