Leadership transition at Sapura Energy: Muhammad Zamri takes over as new GCEO


KUALA LUMPUR: Sapura Energy Bhd has announced that its chairman, Datuk Mohammad Azlan Abdullah, and group CEO, Datuk Mohd Anuar Taib, will step down in the fourth quarter of the current financial year, with internal successors set to take over.

In a statement, Sapura Energy said interim chairman Shahin Farouque Jammal Ahmad will be redesignated as chairman of the board, while SapuraOMV Upstream CEO Muhammad Zamri Jusoh will take over as group CEO.

Azlan will step down from his chairmanship position on Jan 31, 2025, after serving since May 2022, while Anuar will leave his roles as group CEO and executive director on Dec 31, 2024.

Sapura Energy said Zamri’s tenure as group CEO will begin on March 1, and the group has appointed Mohamad Nasri Mehat as officer-in-charge in the interim.

Nasri is currently Sapura Energy’s CEO of operations & maintenance and senior vice president, group quality, health, safety, and environment.
