Yinson Production achieves first oil at Vietnam’s Lac Da Vang field ahead of schedule

FSO PTSC LDV moored offshore at Block 15-1/05 in Vietnam

PETALING JAYA: Yinson Holdings Bhd’s subsidiary, Yinson Production, and PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation have achieved first oil from the floating storage and offloading vessel (FSO) PTSC LDV at the Lac Da Vang field in Block 15-1/05 offshore Vietnam on Sept 27, ahead of the previously scheduled fourth quarter of 2026 (4Q26).

Yinson Production chief executive officer Flemming Guiducci Grønnegaard, in a release, said the milestone reflected strong collaboration between Yinson Production, its joint venture partner PTSC and client Murphy Oil Corp, as well as their shared commitment to technical excellence and safety.

The milestone follows the vessel’s provisional acceptance on Sept 20, which marked the start of its firm charter period.

Production at the field is expected to ramp up through 2028 as additional wells are brought online, providing a new source of supply to support Vietnam’s growing energy sector.
