GenM bid unsuccessful for Macau gaming concession

PETALING JAYA: Genting Malaysia Bhd (GenM) has confirmed that its bid was unsuccessful for a new 10-year gaming concession in Macau.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the gaming group said it nonetheless would like to express its appreciation to the Macau Special Administrative Region government for the opportunity to participate in the bid process.

Genting Malaysia had about two months ago announced the submission of its bid via its indirect subsidiary GMM SA to the Macau government.

It was the surprise seventh bidder in the decades-long oligopoly of the six incumbent operators in that country.
