PETALING JAYA: Although being among one of the first sectors to reopen under the conditional movement control order (CMC), the construction industry is still grappling to get back on its feet with only about one quarter of construction sites in operation, according to Master Builders Association of Malaysia (MBAM).

Its president Foo Chek Lee said the industry faces new challenges due to Covid-19 such as compliance with the standard operating procedure (SOP) and priority towards safety of workers.
