Affin Bank gets Bank Negara nod for RM50mil Pheim AM acquisition

KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Bank Bhd has received approval from Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) for its proposed acquisition of Pheim Asset Management Sdn Bhd for RM50mil cash.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the bank said the approval, granted via a letter dated April 2, 2026, is subject to certain conditions, including post-completion reviews of selected operational processes within the Pheim AM group.

“The approval is subject to ABB undertaking post-completion reviews of certain operational processes of the Pheim AM Group, amongst others, review by an independent external party prior to system integration,” Affin said.

The proposed acquisition, first announced in November 2025, involves the purchase of the entire equity interest in Pheim Asset Management.
