HYDERABAD, India: India has signed a deal with Vietnam to sell BrahMos missiles in its second sale to a South-East Asian nation after the Philippines.
The matter was disclosed by Defence Ministry secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on Saturday (May 30).
"My understanding is that with both Indonesia and with Vietnam, the deal is in the final stages. For Vietnam, I understand that it has already been signed. Probably not publicly announced, but it's already been signed," he said.
India has developed the BrahMos cruise missile system jointly with Russia.
It has supplied the shore-based anti-ship missiles to the Philippines under a 2022 deal between BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited (BAPL) and the Department of National Defence of the Philippines. - Bernama
