Brunei briefings raise awareness on cybercrime, abuse cases


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Community and Neighbourhood Watch Unit of the Berakas Police Station, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), organised a neighbourhood watch social activity on Monday (May 11) featuring awareness briefings on cybercrime as well as crimes of abuse against women and children.

The sessions were attended by 110 participants. The first one began with a briefing by the Women and Children Abuse Crime Investigation Unit under the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Meanwhile, the second session continued with a briefing by the Cybercrime Investigation Division of the CID, RBPF.

The activity aimed to enhance public awareness regarding current crime threats, including cybercrime and cases involving the abuse of women and children.

It also sought to strengthen cooperation and close relations between the police and the community in jointly preserving the nation’s peace, security, and well-being.

Probationary Assistant Superintendent of Police Mohammad Elmi Shahri Osman was the guest of honour. Inspector Hamdan bin Mantul was also present. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
