BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Minister of Religious Affairs Datuk Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Badaruddin Othman received a courtesy call from President of the Australian National Imams Council Shadi Alsuleiman at the Dhiyafah Room, Extension Building, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) in Jalan Dewan Majlis, Tuesday (May 12).

Shadi Alsuleiman, on an official visit to Brunei from Monday to yesterday under the sponsorship of the Australian government, was accompanied by High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Michael Hoy and Second Secretary at the Australian High Commission in Brunei Jenifer Zhao.

The courtesy visit, which also followed a visit by Australian academic Susan Carland to Brunei last year, served as a platform for the exchange of views and experiences, as well as discussions on potential cooperation in religious services.

MoRA highlighted several areas of collaboration, including programmes to send imams from Brunei to mosques in Australia at appropriate times.

This initiative aims to strengthen bilateral relations while expanding the sharing of expertise and experience in the propagation of Islamic teachings between both countries. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
