In a digital age where viral moments are born every second, only a select few manage to break through the noise and build something lasting. Adam Nuqris is proving that this transition is not just possible, it is already unfolding.
Following a strong digital presence and more than 68,000 followers on TikTok, built through emotionally charged cover performances, Adam now steps into his defining moment with the release of his debut single, “Alasan”.
With a signature husky, emotionally textured vocal tone and a natural ability to move across genres, from hip-hop to rock, Adam has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting new voices in Malaysia’s evolving music landscape. His early attention came through cover renditions of works by Zynakal and Yonnyboii, earning both audience momentum and recognition from the original creators themselves.
Behind the digital breakthrough lies a grounded story shaped by real-life experience. Before music became his path, Adam worked as a barber and ran a small food stall in Kampung Baru, early experiences that built his work ethic, resilience, and perspective.

“I’ve never tried to build a perfect image of myself,” Adam shares. “I come from a real place, working normal jobs, figuring life out, making mistakes, and also learning along the way. Everything I’ve gone through becomes part of how I create music today. For me, music has to be honest. And ‘Alasan’ is exactly that, it’s where I am right now, emotionally and creatively.”
The foundation of “Alasan” began unexpectedly, a raw 30-second clip recorded during a studio jam session and uploaded to TikTok without overthinking it. What followed was a response that changed its direction entirely.
“I thought it was just a throwaway moment,” Adam recalls. “But when I saw how people reacted, how they connected to it emotionally, I then realised it wasn’t just a clip. It carried weight, it carried truth. That’s when I knew it had to become something bigger, something complete.”
Produced by Kidd Santhe, “Alasan” is co-written by Adam alongside Saixse and Altimet (Mambang). The collaboration delivers a hip-hop track with modern trap influences, offering a fresh sound while carrying strong emotional depth.
Instead of following a typical heartbreak story, “Alasan” looks within. It explores emotional exhaustion, difficult truths, and the moment someone finally becomes clear about what they need.
The song reflects the point where staying in something becomes harder than leaving it, and choosing yourself starts to matter more than holding on.
“This song isn’t just about sadness,” Adam explains. “It’s about reaching a moment where you stop denying how you feel. Sometimes, staying hurts more than leaving. And when that happens, walking away is not weakness, it’s clarity.”
He adds: “I hope listeners realise their feelings are valid. Sometimes, the hardest part is not letting go, but learning to do it anyway and still move forward.”
The official music video (MV) for “Alasan” is directed by creative director Kripxen, known for his work with SonaOne and Alyph.
Under SVLTAN Management in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment Malaysia, “Alasan” marks the official launch of Adam Nuqris’ solo journey into Malaysia’s mainstream music landscape. “Alasan” is now available on all major digital streaming platforms and YouTube.
