SINGAPORE: (Bernama) Singapore has provisionally allocated 200 megawatts (MW) of new data centre (DC) capacity to four operators, strengthening the country’s position as a trusted global hub for artificial intelligence (AI) and data centre investments.
In a joint statement, the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) said Digital Realty, Equinix, Keppel Data Centres and ST Telemedia Global Data Centres would each be allocated 50 MW of data centre capacity.
The operators were selected through the second Data Centre-Call for Application (DC-CFA2) exercise, launched on Dec 1, 2025, marking a significant step in Singapore’s commitment to partnering with the data centre sector to support sustainable growth and contribute to the country’s strategic and economic priorities.
"The four supported data centres have committed to exceed the minimum sustainability requirements imposed for DC-CFA2, and will power more than 50 per cent of their DC capacity from green energy sources,” the statement said.
These DCs will also be best-in-class in terms of energy efficiency by adopting advanced technologies such as liquid cooling and using 100 per cent energy-efficient IT equipment.
According to the statement, DCs supported under DC-CFA2 will locate their facilities on Jurong Island.
JTC, a government agency responsible for Singapore’s industrial progress, is developing a low-carbon DC park on Jurong Island to enable the data centre sector to operate more sustainably. - Bernama
