HANOI (Reuters): Vietnam plans to extend a suspension of import tariffs on fuels by two months to the end of June, state media cited the finance ministry as saying over the weekend.

The ministry has sent a draft resolution on the extension to the Ministry of Justice for review, online newspaper VnExpress reported.

* The tariff suspension has been in place since March 9 and was set to end on April 30.

* The suspension is aimed at "stabilising domestic production as end-date of the Middle East conflict is uncertain," the report said.

* State revenue would be reduced by 2.02 trillion dong ($77 million) for the period from March 9 to June 30 due to the suspension, the report said.

* The finance ministry also wants to introduce a suspension of import tariffs on naphtha, reformate and condensate from April 30 through to the end of June, according to the report.
