During the visit on Wednesday, the Prime Minister toured BFI’s facilities, gaining first-hand insight into the scale and operations of one of Southeast Asia’s largest single-train fertiliser plants. He also observed the company’s safety standards and its product range, including granular and coated urea.

BFI said the visit reflected the strong and longstanding relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Australia, particularly in areas of trade, food security and other shared economic interests.

The company also reaffirmed its role as a reliable supplier of high-quality fertiliser products, supporting global agricultural supply chains and promoting sustainable farming practices amid ongoing volatility in global markets.

BFI highlighted its development of enhanced efficiency fertilisers and on-demand supply solutions as part of efforts to support agricultural productivity.

The visit also underscored the company’s growing importance as a key exporter of urea and a strategic partner to Australia, the company said, adding that it looks forward to further strengthening cooperation in the years ahead. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
