Brunei intensifies promotion of culture, nature, and adventure tourism and diversifies its economy

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Brunei remains focused on optimizing its existing resources to strengthen the competitiveness of tourism products based on culture, nature, and adventure, a government minister has announced.

Speaking during a session of the Legislative Council, Abdul Manaf Metussin, minister of primary resources and tourism, said the strategy will include a wide-impact advertising campaign using various promotional methods aimed at increasing global awareness of the country's tourism attractions.

Under the plan, Brunei's Tourism Development Department will appoint overseas marketing representatives to improve the effectiveness of both traditional and digital promotions.

These representatives will focus particularly on dynamic tourism markets.

The minister said Brunei recorded 763,000 international tourist arrivals in 2025, representing an increase of around 13 percent compared to 2024. -- Xinhua
