TOKYO: A 36-year-old woman was arrested Thursday (June 18) on suspicion of stabbing a female friend living in Fukuoka City.

According to the Fukuoka Prefectural Police’s Higashi Station, the victim was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect was initially arrested for attempted murder, but Higashi Station will reclassify the case as a murder investigation.

The suspect allegedly stabbed her 33-year-old friend multiple times in the neck and chest with a knife-like object at around 3.15am Thursday.

She has admitted to the charges, saying: “It’s true I did it. I stabbed her many times.”
